Good for those who never saw the original

Unfortunately, I saw the original so I knew the basic idea of the movie. I disagree with those who say the original was better, though. This one is updated to match modern day themes and possibilities. And the story has changed slightly along with what the characters do.....slightly.
I thought it was good, not great. Meryl Streep actually seemed like she was overacting to me.......but who knows. Liev Schrieber did an outstanding job.....very different character than I'm used to seeing him portray........and Denzel, well, Denzel was Denzel (which is a good thing).
If you've never seen the original, this movie will be enjoyable for you. If you've seen the original, not much new here.
I still liked it........but doesn't get a "great" from me because it's a remake.....but a good one. |
