I am not familiar with this director, but my friends were raving about how good he was in the past. If this is an example of his work...i would rather avoid seeing any of his other films.
The story had potential, but was unbelivabe and its pacing was off. The characters were out of sync with themselves , with others and the plot. The acting was bad. There was some mediocre performances but Val's acting was terrible. He was actually alot better in Batman.
The cliches were sickening and racist...with an apparent trans-arabian conspiracy of white american slavery ranging from Lebanon to the UAE.
Not enough research was done. The film was obviously made by somone who had not been to Dubai coz that place in the movie looked nothing like the UAE.
I did not know this film even existed until i was dragged into the cinema to watch it a few weeks back. Really, i would not even watch if it came on tv.
I would given it a D- but the overall feel of the film was an F. |
