Okay, I have a reputation for writing some fairly strong, blunt criticism of Tinseltown productions of late. Finally, out of nowhere comes this precious jewel that restores my faith in the American Film Industry. Great acting, great story-line, great visuals and great direction here...all neatly tied up in a 2-hour long delight. I didn't want it to end. But there is just one little problem: Can someone please tell me the name of the moron in Hollywood who decided to keep this picture "in the can" for more than 2 years after it was finished? Yes, it's true. Morgan Freeman was playing the role of Robert Redford's side-kick long before he "met" Clint Eastwood's character in Million Dollar Baby. Other than that, the movie people managed to put a classic together here. Go see it. Leave the 40-yr old virgin to the dimwits who wouldn't know the difference between a 2-hour long joke and a memorable movie classic if it bit them in their ... |
