although there are fine performances and a few touching moments there is not enough meat on these bones to make a proper cinematic meal. as to its providing a thought provoking expose on our society and what a gigantic role sex and intimacy play in our lives there can be no doubt but a biographical drama was not in order--not enough human interest in this story--some interesting tidbits here and there about kinseys development, his drive, his human interaction but one leaves the theater wondering why not just make a documentary--a fair movie nothing more--to be discussed certainly but never to be seen again for its dramatic and artistic appeal. fine performances by all but just no emotional pay-off. |
