Indeed, I am old enough to be an embarassment to my children. But this is part of the fun of the movie, too. At 55, and a boomer, I initially found the love scenes between Jack and Diana to be blush worthy only because I don't identify with their age group. But this is a boomer generation film which reminds us that all of our pretentions, fears, vanities are no longer central in our lives, as it should be. These old horse still have a few laps left in them, and they (we) should grab the opportunity. And we should laugh at ourselves and enjoy the foibles of our lives with good nature and humility toward all. The film is for a maturing audience, but all can enjoy its messages. |
