Steve Martin phones in his performance. Scenes where a normal father would show emotion, Steve looks like a wax statue. Bonnie Hunt is surprisingly good; excellent sense of timing and quite believable as a middle aged mother. The children are a mixed bag of well, children. Teen anxst, budding diva, tom boy, grossout specialiest, cute twins and the "forgotten one".
Overall it is good for it's target audience- pre and early teens + families looking for a family friendly movie.
There is also a good moral at the end; one that maybe more decision makers in Holywood should remember....
Go see this movie, just don't expect anything provocative. |
