This installment of Barbershop should have been the first one, since the first one should have been called "The ATM". Barbershop 2 focused on exactly what was important...the barbershop-duh!
Cube actually gave a very good performance. The only short fall we felt was the sketchy direction of Cedric the Entertainers character. The beginning and mid sequences concerning his character left us feeling lost at best. Not until the end did we get any understanding of exactly WHAT was going on with him.
On a different note, the jokes are again well written and timed. Some may be glad to know the vulgarities and extremely politically incorrect jokes were toned down or left-out entirely.
Although we love Queen Latifah...our outlook on Beautyshop is not good...not good at all.
The story stays involved with the shop and those within...where it should be. Don't let the awfulness of the first one rob you of this honestly good movie. |
