Absolutely great!... But NOT for kids.

...This coming from an avid, avid SB fanatic. I had advanced tickets and was wearing (honest to God), SB underwear and shoelaces to the opening day showing. I laughed non-stop from the beginning. However, it is not good for kids. Really. I mean, normally the show is off-the-wall undersea humor that appeals to kids, and yet tickles adults' funny bones as well. But there were some things that were better left to adults' eyes. One example is substance abuse by SB and Patrick (not wacky-tobaccy, but of ice cream), and Patrick is infatuated with King Neptune's daughter and hits on her throughout the movie, even going so far as to say, "Did you see my underwear?" "No." "Did you wanna see my underwear?" Also, there's a part (well, several, in fact) where Patrick is naked, one time being when he's flying through the air with a flag nestled between his buttcheeks. After he crashes, he announces to everyone: "Didja see my butt?"
Of course, I thought it was hilarious, and just the type of humor I enjoy the most. But I'm a 23-year-old college kid with nothing better to do with my time. Ice cream overdoseage and Patrick in fishnets is definitely some of the movie's high points in terms of comedy, but not appropriate for children. |
