Troy, by Wolfgang Peterson was a truely remarkable story and movie.
Troy was is a story about the Greeks versus the Trojans in 1000 B.C. (roughly) as told by Homer's Iliad. The story from the book and the story from the movie was consistant and did it justice until the end. The end was good, but it was not the same ending as the book. Besides that, the story was very good, and told in a very appealing way.
The visuals were some of the most convincing I have ever seen. Though most of the actual sets were built, it was hard to see if they were the real ones or CGI. The scenery and the city looked great. The amount of detail was incredible.
The acting was done well. Brad Pitt played a convincing warrior who had a side of depression, Eric Bana played a prince that cared pationantly about his country and his family. The others did very well, but the 2 that stood out were Brad Pitt and Eric Bana.
Overall, this is a must see, that has a lot of great action, a compelling story that could and should be easily called an epic. |
