Shopgirl is a surprise to be honest. i knew it was going to be a good movie but it didn't think I was going to like it as much as I did when I had left the theater. The movie starts out like some movies do and you begin to think, "it's good, but can we have something interesting happen already," and yes, alot of interesting character devolopment and the story gets better as the movie flows along. It is a wonderful movie and Claire Danes, Steve Martin and Jason Schwartzman all deserve oscar nominations. Steve Martin should actually be nominated for two, Best Actor and for Best Sceenplay. The movie should be nominated for at least 5 academy awards in my opinion inckuding the one's I just had mentioned and Best Picture. Go see SHOPGIRL, you won't be dissapointed, you will be surprised. |
