Caught a screening of the movie last night and all I can really say is Meh. I don't think I was ever able to get past the whole Steve Martin/Claire Danes pair. The age difference was too hard for me to accept, especially since the movie never did really explain why they got together. What made him approach her? We had a lot of laughs at the beginning of the movie and I thought, okay it's a comedy. Then it turned into a romantic story. Then it turned into a drama towards the end. I'm still not quite sure what it was. The Steve Martin narration seemed a bit out of place, although I think the acting was decent. It was a typical Claire Danes role. Overall, I'd say wait till this sucker hits video and DVD. |
