There are no words to describe how amazing this movie was. I felt like it I was watching myself up on that screen. First generation americans, europeans, canadians (basically first generation born kids in the western world) can relate to this movie on many levels, and for the others, its a real eye opener into the lives of people outside themselves, they can now see things that come so easily to them are things they take for granted because, first generation kids can only dream about having all that. Someone finally dared to tackle an important issue that no one in hollywood cared to bat an eye for. It is a very informative, entertaining, comedic, romantic movie, it should have definetly won at least a golden globe. The first time I saw the movie, after it had finished, the audience gave a roaring round of applause, and that almost never happens. The movie was such an unexpected runaway hit, that it expanded all over the U.S. (it was originally on going to be shown in NYC and LA). It ran six months longer than anticipated. It also went on to make a huge star out of Keira Knightly, I'm so proud, she more than deserves it. |
