Every fifth grader wants Jack Black as their substitute teacher. Let me rephrase that. EVERY STUDENT wants Jack Black as their substitute teacher. School of rock literally ROCKS!!!
The beginning of the movie drags on a bit as Jack Black's character Dewey is kicked out of his own band. It's not until he pretends to be his roomate to get the substitute teacher job when it begins to be funny.
Actually I was bored until Dewey begins teaching the kids how to be Rock Stars. The chemistry between the kids and Jack Black is so real. I couldn't believe that they were acting because whenever they were having fun it literally looked like they were. Summer was adorable as the bossy manager and she and Dewey have the best scenes together. Ofcourse the talent is clearly showed onstage and the kids steal the show. They are AMAZING! Sorry Dewey. The lyrics and the music was as funny as it was entertaining. Too bad they aren't a real band.
You teen girls who have a crush on the drummer don't worry he's the oldest at 14 yrs old so its not like you actually like a 10yr old.
But for those of you teen boys who have a crush on the bassist, better rethink that one cause she's only 11.
I went to see it with my 12 yr old sister and my mother and ALL of us loved it. It is truly a family movie that everyone can enjoy and leave the movie theatre happy with the money spent.
