Val Kilmer (John Holmes) and Lisa Kudrow (his estranged wife) are brilliant in Oscar worthy performances in what has to be one of the most violent and non-commercial indie films to come along since "Reservior Dogs".
Kilmer's labile, emotionally unstable John Holmes has him going from one extreme to another in a capacity that reflects genuine pain and a blinding myopic nature that seems as unique as it is disturbing.
Kudrow's introspective purgatory and inner conflict translates well in "Wonderland". Kudrow's far too sharp for the bland and generic world of the sitcom wasteland. |
