Spy Kids 3-D, 1 1/2 hours of watching someone play a video game. And we know how boring that is because we are not holding the controls playing along. I was very excited about seeing this movie but was very disappointed. The visual effects were fun and this does seem to be the first 3-D movie at local theatres but that makes up for the hum-drum plot. It mainly focuses on young Juni, so it is definetly targetted towards younger children. But this movie would have been much more entertaining if I was a child who thinks playing video games should be a sport. The plot was just terrible. An evil nerdy toymaker creates a game that will control the minds of children. I wish they were more creative. Not even the three sides of him that he talks to made it funny. I didn't hear one child laugh at that. Actually the cameos of people ,such as Elijah Wood and Salma Hayek, had more screen time than the Cortez parents. With the money I spent I could have gone to Disney World, ridden on all the rides and watched a better 3-D movie. Actually I wish Spy Kids 3-D was an amusement ride, would have been much more worth-while. |
