The best movie of the year, by far. Probably the best movie in the last 20 years. Performances by Toby McGuire, Chris Cooper and Jeff Bridges are Oscar material. In the sold-out Megaplex we were at last night, 75% of the audience loudly cheered and applauded at the end of the movie. During one race, they cheered on Seabiscuit like it was a live race. And this was in the state of Minnesota where everyone is a reserved Lutheran and never show outward emotion. Safe for kids of all ages. A few colorful metaphors here and there and a short scene at a Mexican brothel. But no adult-like action and no skin. It was AWESOME! A must-see. Whether you like horses or horse-racing or not, it won't matter. The STORY is incredible. |
