I went into this film not expecting very much, but I have to admit that it is not bad at all. In fact, it is really darn good. Diane Lane is perfect as France Mayes (a woman who's life is really in the gutter). She travels to Italy and buys a villa on a whim and starts to rebuild her wrecked life. Sounds corny but it really is a very good film. Acting is top-notch, the scenery is great and the story is entertaining and lighthearted with some dramatic bits added carefully to the mix. Very recommended. A+ |
