A shame if you love 1 & 2- no "pie" feeling to it

Well, let me just start out and say that I love the first 2 movies - can't decide which is better. Both have great stories, laughs, and "good feelings" associated with them. This last one lacks all that made the first 2 collectables. After the opening scene - you think everything is going to be great, just like the last 2 movies. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The major problem with the movie isn't that it is lacking the full cast, or even lacking the potential to be funny (meaning that on paper- it sounds good). However, the translation is horrible, mainly due to the once funny Stiffler, who has turned into an idiot in this movie. He is obnoxious, over-acted, overplayed, and off-timed as far as his behavior and jokes go. From the get-go, his vulgar language and lines, that once were witty and funny in his own unique way, are now hard to sit though as you think to yourself "what the hell happened to the Stiffler I knew?" They really needed to review this before letting it go out to the public. The rest of the story is fine - nothing special, but okay. Take stiffler and make him like he was, and let the other actors have larger parts, and you might get a better movie. I can watch the first 2 over and over again - still laugh a lot, and still feel "warm" - like they are people that I can relate to im my life from the old days, making me think fondling on how good times were "in the old days of first high school, and then college". To make it worse, I am getting married in a year, so I was really looking forward to having this be another Pie movie that I could relate to and watch years down the road and get those same "pie" type feelings from. I am sorry to say that isn't the case. I could care less if I ever see this movie again, save for the opening scene and a few select other ones. They should really take this movie back from the theatres, apologize for it, modify it to make it worthy of the "pie" series, and then re-release it. I would love to see a different "American Wedding", because this version just doesn't leave you wanting another slice. At least I still have the first 2 movies to enjoy. A shame... |
