I hesitantly saw "Love Actually" six weeks ago at a free preview. Anyone who has gone to this free sneak previews can tell you, you don't get something for nothing. Well in this case I was wrong. "Love Actually" is everything you would hope to find in a romatic comedy. This film is rich with comedy, romance, heartache, and charm. With ten story lines running simultmiously there is never a dull moment. And the characters are so richly drawn. These are people with situations you can relate to not your television sitcom cardboard cutouts. With lives full of laughter and alittle sadness the actors give us a honest view of ourselves at our most vulnerble and best. Television execs please get yourself a copy of this film fast and study it!
I would also like to thank the British filmmakers for their colorblind casting. The actors are casted for their talent and not because of their race in this film. Something american filmmakers aren't brave enough to do.
Hugh Grant says in the opening scene that love is all around us. This film gave me hope that it is. This is my favorite film this year by far. Don't miss out on love! |
