Second-Best Fantasy Movie of the Hour - no, Third
by conejito_andarin (movies profile)

It's astonishing that this was ever released in a theater. This is a mind-numbingly dull and flat movie. The story is padded out until the encounter with the witch with a few third-tier actors in wretched costumes.
The jokes are delivered as if the actors are ashamed to be saying them. Howie Mandel has truly fallen low, and to see Lynn Redgrave in this was disappointing (although she did manage to bring a small amount of menace to the role). Taylor Mumsen is probably the most effective actor in the movie and keeps her head above water pretty well.
Congratulations to the writers for putting farts to the script to appeal to second-graders.
I'm sorry, but the testiomonials from the producer's mom don't cut it. |
