Very Surprising

I came into this film thinking it would be just some lame rip off of the Blade series, and it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable movies I have been to recently.
The story is well done here. The idea of a war between vampires and werewolves is done far above my expectations were, and apart from a few confusing scenes towards the end, is also quite coherent and interesting.
I can't really consder myself a good judge of acting, seeing as I am not one, nor do I know how to judge it, but nothing really stood out to me as either good or bad, so I gave it a B. Plus, the main human character looks a hell of a lot like Jeremy Shockey.
The cinematography was outstanding. It kind of felt like "vampires meets the matrix" due to the moody visuals, black leather, sunglasses and such. The camera angles/movement is also done quite well, and the whole thing is done with kind of a blue filter, creating a sort of twilight, colorless sense. Essentially, the directing felt a whole lot like the Matrix, done particularly well. I can't really describe it, but when I was watching it I felt like "damn, that's a beautiful scene" several times. |
