I like Hackman, Hoffman and Cusack. I like Grisham's books. But "Runaway Jury" is Hollywood politcal correctness run amok.
Grisham's original story involved the tobacco lobby - but that wasn't left-wing enough for Hollywood. I've heard that after Grisham learned how badly his book had been butchered, he asked to have his name taken off the credits!
If you want to see a dull diatribe about the "evil gun dealers" you can get the same sort of stuff for free at any gun control web site.
On the other hand, if you're an American, you'll find this sort of mindless drivel repulsive. And unless drying paint is your idea of entertainments... well, this movie is just TOO predictable.
Do you really want to PAY to be preached at?
This one's a dud. Don't waste your money. |
