Runaway Jury is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. It's interesting and keeps the viewer alert. There's not a boring moment in this feature. You know there is going to be a twist, but the movie is complex enough that you won't figure it out until the very end.
Gene Hackman is supurb, at his usual best. Dustin Hoffman is as strong as ever, not missing a beat even though his character is not the lead player. Rachel Weisz was very convincing. But,it is John Cusack that steals the show.
The only downfall in this show is; there are three beautiful brunettes and it is difficult in the very beginning to tell them apart. But, only in the very beginning.
It's nice to see a movie that is written and directed with the aspect that its viewers will be intelligent people. It proves there does not have to be beat them up and blow them up antics and heated sex scenes to draw in movie goers. A great script and great acting will still do it every time. |
