First off, come out of the closet and stop being so self-loathing.

As for the movie, I laughed so hard I cried. David Spade has no shame, which is his greatest gift in comedy. He will go that extra mile to be goofy and self depricating if it will squeze another laugh out of the script. The message I got from the film was the longing for acceptance that some former child stars must feel every so often. To be on top for so many years and then dropped by your fans and family truly must be heartbreaking. While the sentiment is a bit over the top, so is everything else in this movie. Mary McCormick is once again very personable and attractive. Like her role in Private Parts, she has a vulnerability which, while sexy, does not make you cry out of pity for her because she is a very headstrong woman. Spade is, well, Spade. He's smarmy, witty, and even managed to throw in a few more 80's tunes that really complimented the scene. Alyssa Milano was very funny as Spade's on again-off again hanger-on girlfriend. And Jon Lovitz is still one of the funniest men in comedy for my money. What comedian wouldn't want this guy in their movie? And please stick around for the song at the end of the film, sung by a cavalcade of former child stars including: The Brady's, Todd Bridges, Leif Garrett, Rerun, Butch Patrick, The Corey's and more. All in all, definitely worth the price of a matinee if you just want to turn off your brain and have a good chuckle.
