Ok, so the movie is full of clichés & unintentional laughs, but that doesn't mean it's bad! The Day After Tomorrow is actually a damn good disaster movie.
The Special effects are absolutely stunning (The Tornados!), you should go see the movie just for that. Seeing New York under water or in the snow is pretty impressive.
If you're looking for an entertaining movie, the Day After Tomorrow is perfect.
The acting is alright, nothing special, but for this kind of movie that really doesn't matter. Dennis Quaid & Jake Gyllenhaal did a great job & it's great to see Ian Holm back!
The only problem i have with this movie is that the first half is so impressive & full of action, which makes the second part (with more 'talking') a bit long. It makes you long for more spectacle, but it takes a while before something big happens again.
Overall a good popcorn-flick! |
