Nice but not great

This movie was a nice escape back to the days when your name and moral obligations meant something. There were some problems with the dialogue, however. There were several serious momnets where the audience in my theater burst out laughing (ex "There are people who are going to die here today, Sue, and I'm going to kill them. Do you understand that?").
I do have to give Duvall kudos for his wonderful acting job. Costner was good as well but Bening seemed a bit wooden.
One very redeeming factor for this movie is the way it's shot. The visuals are absolutely beautiful. |
