Put aside any notions you have of a professional wrestler as a leading man in a major Hollywood production. This shatters that notion and then some.
I had the pleasure of seeing this movie last week during the sneak preview. As a huge wrestling fan and a fan of The Rock, I am very interested in seeing how far he's come from his days as the people's champion.
The Rundown is an extraordinary action film that is excellently directed by Peter Berg. It is loaded with cool action scenes great humor, and story that is very ineresting and fun to watch. It also includes a great supporting cast that are equally fun to watch and will give the pre teen set their first exposeure to Christopher Walken in a very fun role as the films villian. Great casting that adds to the film in a big way.
After seeing The Rock's first film "The Scorpion King" I was worried that he would be hitting the direct to video market any day. It was an interesting first film, in being that it made so much money it was almost insane. However that shows that there is a desire to see The Rock on the big screen. People want to pay to see this man. Pay they will and this time the money is well spent. Fast, funny and a great ride. Just like the ads say, this shows that The Rock has arrived as the next big action hero in Hollywood.
The film could have been a run of the mill action feature with the same old thing, but with cool camera work, incredible stunts, action scenes and a leading man deserving of being a leading man. are all the ingredients of a great film.
I loved the entire film and already plan on seeing it again. While "Once Upon a Time in Mexico" was a great film, I enjoyed this one even more. Any fan of action films will love this movie, it satisfied on all levels. AWESOME! |
