...otherwise, you'll ruin a perfectly good seat.
The trailer for TCM were frightening on their own, and made me curious enough to check out the remake. I was very pleased with the results, and the movie was actually much scarier than I thought it would be.
If you've seen the original, then there's not a ton of new things here for you, although the cinemtography is more up to date, and looks great. The story is basically the same, and for the sake of giving nothing away for those who aren't familiar, I won't go into story details here.
The movie is legitimately terrifying, without an overabundance of gore. Walking the line between what is truly horror, and what is just gratuitous gore is an art, and director Marcus Nispel accomplishes the former in this picture very well.
I saw this last night, and I don't think I've ever seen a horror movie with as much screaming and crying (yes, crying) from the audience as I experienced during the movie last night. If you're looking for a truly horrifying Halloween scare, this one is more than worth the price of admission. |
