When I sat down to watch the DVD, I thought this was just another Holocaust movie that was made for some cash. But as I watched it, I couldn't turn away from it. The movie accuratly depicts the horrific violence that killed over 6 million Jews. The hardest part to watch was when the Germans lined up random people for their execution. The coldness of the Germans for their part in this tragedy. But this movie shows the other side of the German hate with the officer helping the Pianist to survive. Mr. Brody's depiction of the main character was very moving and he deserved the Oscar that he received for the part. The graphic scenes that were in the movie were the best (sadly) graphic scenes in any Holocaust-oriented movie. If you have the opportunity to see this movie, then go for it because it will truly change your view on life. |
