My expectations going into this movie were high: I generally like Di Caprio's work, Scorsese is usually good, and the reviews were not bad (b+ from the critics). But from the moment that the lights first hit the screen in the theater, I knew I should have seen "Limmony Snicket's." Di Caprio was totally wrong for the part. He's an adult who could pass for a teen. Him bossing around his workers seemed incredible. When Di Caprio first came on stage I thought I was watching the sequal to Catch Me If You Can. HE WAS TOO YOUNG! THE WRITING WAS TERRIBLE! Questions were asked and not answered, problems arose and never were solved. The movie was completely anti-climatic. At the end of the movie EVERY PERSON in the theater said to the person next to them, "wait....WHAT?" Even the great actors and actresses ( CATE BLANCHETTE) in this film couldn't save it. Don't waste you time. |
