"Cabin Fever" as horrific as the previews made it seem, is horrific, but in a very different sort of way. It falls more under the horror category of an "Evil Dead" or "Dead Alive" which is most likely why Peter Jackson liked it so much. The film is actually very funny, but not because it was trying to hard. Roth gets across exactly what he wants to even though some people will say it was bad because it is too funny. There is some rather disgusting violence and the tale really is very horrible, but Roth presents everything in such a unique way that lots of the time, the gross stuff is funny because you know exactly what is coming, and he gives you exactly what you think is coming, but it is still disgusting and shocking. I really enjoyed this film for what Roth wanted it to be, at least I hope he wanted it to be that, but it will probably get slammed by most people for lacking horror and for some of the ridiculous dialogue, but it is all meant to be that way, so it is very good. Go see it! |
