I enjoyed the movie; though it was dark, and, really, very sad.
It was powerfully emotive; that may have been the problem. This movie vivisects those mundane anxieties that common work'a'day people contend with. It peels away the blister that most of us live inside of; daily life, television, bright, happy food. -There's no distraction from themselves.
If American cinema is sensational, it's only because that's what's missing in most lives. This to the end, that it's not always clear was sentiment is being emoted in the film; lust, jealousy, genuine love, or desperation; It's all given the same wash of the daily grind and being more trouble that it'd be worth to overcome. And Joe's character cuts through it.
And then Joe's schlong pops out and kills everyone in a hail of gun-fire. |
