The WORST film in history

I don't typicially write reviews but felt compelled to do so after this horrible waste of $10.50 for tickets, and worse yet, nearly three hours of my time. Whoever the screenwriter is should tarred and feathered, and lose the right to their computer.
The first 15 minutes are a ridiculously boring series of shots to the tune of old music that was bad when it was new.
I have seen many, many films, particularly in this genre, but never before have I been so disappointed nor hated a film to such a degree as this. The plot is disjointed and hard to follow, and after the first 10 minutes it's difficult to remember there IS a plot somewhere beneath the gritty, cookie-cutter "my city screams" sequences and long-winded voice-overs that were cliche when we heard them in The Spirit a couple of months ago. But at least The Spirit, despite its flaws, had a running time of just over an hour, and actors who can draw an audience.
I've never walked out on a film before. Ever. And I sat through The Village, The Eye, The Matrix: Revolutions, Saw IV, and The Mummy 3, among others I'm ashamed to even think of. But I walked out on this, much later than I wanted, because unfortunately the person I was with wanted to get his money's worth and finish it. I didn't. I finally just left.
This film should have never seen the light of day and, in tough economic times, is going to leave many people with the same frustration at how they've wasted time and money that could have been put to better use.
Sitting through this waste of film, much like a root-canal or turbulent plane ride -- you're just waiting and praying for it to finally be over. |
