If you saw the preview for this one, hopefully you were able to tell that his movie, while based in horror, would follow a more action/graphics oriented path than a classic horror film.
Van Helsing does bring together some of our favorite horror villains, and plays on a tense but aggressive story line that makes the 2 hours and 25 minutes fly by. Of course Hugh Jackman played Van Helsing to the hilt, and while Kate Beckinsale is definitely beautiful and the newest female horror heroin over this last year (playing a vampire who hunts werewolves in 'Underworld'), I think most people would agree that the main bride of Dracula was by far the beauty in this movie!!
Good overall story, with a few outrageous action scenes. Definitely worth the $$, and if you are going to see it, go see it in the theatre, as the sound and the darkness of the movie are best captured there... |
