Let me lead with the positive: The humor was great, including some fantastic parody that often exceeded the high standard set by the first film. And I actually thought that the final message of the story is more sweetly straightforward (and thereby much simpler for the kiddies to really get) than that of the original movie. On the negative, I felt like about 15 minutes early in the film that set up the rest of the movie dragged, even to the point where they made me dread what was to come. What a pleasant surprise to see that the film did a huge turnaround! Viva la ogre! |
