And, if you are expecting another "Finding Nemo", then prepare to be disappointed. "Shark Tale" is its own movie, has its own message, and its own style of humor. Disney didn't create it, so you won't find the "G" rated humor. If you, or your children, are offended by crude humor, off-color jokes, and pseudo-sexual overtones, then find another movie.
My husband and I loved this film! I thought the plot was a good one. The story progression is not hurried, in my opinion. And, the music is outstanding! The animation is superb, and the voice acting is top-notch. I thought the actors did a wonderful job of lending their voices to bring life to the characters. Oscar, played by Will Smith, reminded me of his "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" days. Renee Zellwiger makes a wonderful "fish next door" with her portrail of Angie. Angelina Jolie has the perfect voice for Lola, the tempress. Jack Black plays a wonderfully conflicted shark named Lenny. And, Robert De Niro is always a joy in any film, but he is especially wonderful has Don Lino.
Overall, I have to give this film an "A" rating. I can't wait for the DVD because it will be added to my collection ASAP! |
