Better then the 2nd, but that doesn't say much

I went to go see Texas Chainsaw Massacre and I while I was waiting I received a flyer to go to the premiere of Scary Movie 3. I was really excited because the previews seemed that this film was better then the 2nd and close to, maybe even better then the first. Plus\ , it was a free ticket, who could refuse: especially in a day where a ticket is $7.50. But when I saw the movie I was really dissapointed.
First problem is that everything that was funny in the movie they showed in the preview. The whole Michael Jackson under the bedrobe. That's hilarious in the preview but in the movie we all knew what was coming. There was no shock value in anything. If certain scenes were kept from being shown in the preview the movie would have appeared to be much funnier. The whole funeral scene just became stupid and boring. I pretty much laugh at everything and Scary Movie 3 does have a few good chuckles. but nothing hysterical (at least not to me seeing as I saw the funniest parts in the trailer).
There are some things I did like about it (I am not all negative). I really liked how all the stories were connected to one another. They made all the spoofs such as signs, the ring, 8 mile, 6th sense and others really come together and fit in. Scary Movie 2 was a joke and that was in part due to the Wayans brothers who aren't that funny. Scary Movie 3 is a step higher from its predecessor but that's not that big of a compliment.
I would suggest you rent it on video, I wasnt too mad coming out of the thearte since it was a free screening but I would have been upset if I had to pay $7.50t to watch a 90 minute movie that wasn't really that funny. |
