I went opening day, not with high expectations, as I enjoy most Cusler books for great vacation escapist reading. The book was one of the better of the author's, but fairly complex amount of details. Although a few are left out, I was pleasantly surprised at how much of the original story and flow was intact, and how well it came off on screen. I am a little surprised at the poor reviews, in that it served up what I could have expected from the books and writing style of Cusler. Those who have not read him may find it absurb, far-fetched, and too many historically stretched details, but that is why I love Cusler. For escapist entertainment, my teen son, his friend and I all found it to have more action, more fun, and more memorable amusement than National Treasure...I look forward to seeing it again too! |
