Remember how when you go to Disneyland, there is never any gum on the ground? They have people who clean everywhere, all the time. That is what this movie is like: totally in character, and entertaining, all the time. Depp is absolutely brilliant and it is unfortunate that the Academy doesn't "enjoy" validating works like this one. The entire movie was fun, linked to the ride, and you aren't left with tedium, you are left with fun. Yes, there are long sword fights, but then, when you are a pirate, that is what you do. They are quite interesting though. Go see it! Take the kids, take your friends, then go see it again! Let's show by the box office returns how much we enjoy seeing a movie like this! |
