This was the perfect role for Steve Martin, in my opinion. He should have made this movie years ago! I am very surprised by those who say this movie wasn't funny. Me, my husband and our 14 year old son laughed throughout the entire movie, sometimes hysterically. And my son is usually embarassed to be seen doing that. The only problem I had with the movie was the few suggestive jokes/scenes, which were totally unecessary to make this a funny movie. For younger children, this will either confuse them, or they won't even notice. Anyways, other than that, I found Martin's accent a scream, and his antics were pulled off so well. Beyonce didn't have much of a part, but did well. Of course, the main inspector was very tongue in cheek and composed which made me laugh even harder. Well done! Thank you for a fun evening. |
