I brought my 9 year old son and 6 year old daughter to see this. My son loved the film. My 6 year old had to ask several times what the pirates had said because of their heavy Cockney British accent. The most outstanding experience was the director's ability to place the Neverland scenes into such a realistic Maxfield Parrish-like setting. My only concerns as a parent for the youngest one were the numerous scenes where Hook either plunged his saber into a pirate or shoot them with his gun.[One time revealing a slightly bloody hole in the chest of a surprised shipmate] There is more violence when Peter has his final battle with Hook and the only time there is blood on any of the main characters. This is just a little head's up to explain to any little ones before seeing this visual feast. |
