We went as a group of four people and all enjoyed the film a lot. Of course we're New Yorkers and lived through the scene and know all the people depicted but still can we really expect some stodgy old fart critics to get it. This is a film full of great acting and whacky visuals and the soundtrack by Bill Coleman is great too.
As for the girl in the other review who stated she was obsessed with Michael Alig I can only say one thing. I'm sorry for you. He was a rotten person and I really don't think he's learned much from his mistakes. James St. James, at least, picked himself up from his boot straps wrote a fun book and was involved with the making of this film. But if you want to know the truth they all copied LEIGH BOWERY big time. That's who you should be obsessed with! |
