When the Trailer for a Movie is Bad...

You KNOW the movie is going to be even worse. I must have slapped my forehead a hundred times reading all of the 'A+' or even 'B' user reviews. And I really slapped myself hard when I read a few reviews claiming that Son of the Mask is "Oscar worthy."

Whoa.

If I'm not mistaken, in order for a movie to be oscar worthy, the critics have to AT LEAST not give a majority grade of 'F' rating. And when the user reviews are at 'D+'--the same as the average rating of the critics, you just can't say "Critics don't know what they're talking about!"

Now, I usually don't write reviews because I have to sign in and yes, I'm a bit lazy like that, but this movie is just so stupid that I HAD to...especially with all of these other morons naming this movie as a Golden Globe winner. Unfortunately, it is rather obvious that this movie was made for money.

And these people get paid to do this. And come up with this? And if you're one of those idiots that loved the movie (which is fine...just goes to show you have no taste) that is right now, asking me if I could do better? Yes. I probably could. No. I KNOW I could.

Jamie Kennedy plays a bumbling whiner in the movie. Now, I'm no fan of his to start--he annoyed the crap out of me in Malibu's Most Wanted, and he's just. Not. Funny. If his movie career hadn't already been ruined, this movie definitely finished him off.

Alan Cumming also acts in this movie. And being a fan of X-Men 2, he earned my respect as a convincing Nightcrawler. But...this? Why, Cumming, why? I feel more sorry for him as an actor than for his mutated, outcast of a character in the Brian Singer movie.

This movie is full to the brim with cheese. Jamie Kennedy, in the mask, appears as if he had been kicked out of a Halloween costume party because of the stupid green-spray-painted appearance, glossy, idiot look of his.

And some user actually hailed this movie as greater than the "shallow" Spiderman 2 success.

I wouldn't even watch this movie if it came on HBO. T'would be a pure waste of time. I even feel sorry for the baby who didn't have a choice to be in this horrible movie. Talk about a short career.

It is movies like these that make me ashamed to be living in its time. When I have kids one day, they'll say, "Ohmgod mom! That was sooo stupid! Gosh, people in your day were so stupid! ahhaha"

-_-

At least I'll be able to tell them I never watched the entire movie.
