As I sat down at home in front of the Tv I thought to myself , how sorry I was about not finding any good films to download that I had to settle for Christian Bale , American pshcyo ?? , the guy that along with his accent apparently misplaced his talent in most movies I saw of him .
Well it started pretty big , too big in my mind this was no Matrix it hadn't the budget to pull off the premise of a post apocalyptic world , or did it .
I divide the movie into two parts before Christian breaks into the terrorist filled apartment and after , when that scene ends you suddenly understand why a good idea can make the fact that you have no money fade away .
The action is amazing , finally after seeing it seems thousands of scenes imitating the Matrix-slow motion action and bullet time techniques , there was something new something exciting something that made gasp for air just like when you saw Neo doge that bullet for the first time , but again I compare it to the Matrix and I shouldn't this movie in it's essence is much better , however it lacks the promotion and marketing which could have made it into a mind blowing success much better than that of the latest so called blockbusters , such as van helsing or troy .
If this movie would have been given at least half that budget I have no doubt it would have been remembered as the best action movie of the past years .
And to the point , no I still don't like Christian Bale but his good at showing no emotion and the little emotion he does show are very appropriate .
The screenplay is so good though that it makes up for when Bale lacks , and the supporting cast is exceptional Tye Diggs in my mind is one of the most talented actors around giving an excellent performance .
What about the effects , well I don't think you will ever fully be able to describe it with words , it's wonderful it's exciting , and as much of my fellow critic mentioned it makes you think not necessarily making a statement just making you see some options which is always good .
