Excellent storyline

"Identity" is a mind boggling movie experience, which will have you intrigued right up to the startling final minute. Identity sports a great cast and a magnificent storyline, which is so original. The whole idea of 10 strangers meeting at a Motel and becoming trapped there with a murderer is a good storyline in itself; but throw in the mind bending twists and you have a masterpiece. The variety of characters is intriguing, with Liotta and Cusack providing another solid performance.
The only thing preventing this film from reaching masterpiece status is the amount that it leaves up to viewer interpretation. Maybe this is intentional? But you always feel more satisfied coming out of a movie knowing exactly what has happened. The direction of this film has made a few aspects slightly unclear.
But overall, the storyline and twists are magnificent; they are just not used to their full potential by the director. No character has a major role, but some of the more secondary characters play equally as impressive roles as Cusack and Liotta, and they all meet the movie's complex requirements.
It is difficult these days to find an original thriller, but "Identity" comes up with the goods. It is a magnificent story, with awesome twists and a splendid ending. Highly recommended! |
