Ok let me get this out of the way before I move on to the good stuff, Final Destination had the better cast, this one is primarily consisted of people who really need to be hacked to death, which is what works in this sequel. Now let me get to the goods. The death scenes are pure genius, i haven't seen any other horror film this year to top these death scenes. I will not divulge any, but they are well crafted and expertly staged. What surprises me even more that the director of these scenes did freakin Homeward Bound 2. David Ellis gives these scenes a sense of style and he's not afraid to show anyhting. If blood and guts believed in full frontal nudity, this movie would be straight porn. The plot is creative and while it slightly differs from the original, the events in that movie tie into this one, so if u know anyone who died in a plane crash, leave the planet, quick. David Ellis delivers more tension in this film because he know's the audience has seen the original and knows what death is capable of, so he creates tension and plays upon that idea.In terms of the acting, the only two people who off their roles well is the returning members of the original. Ali Larter's could be written off as a Linda Lee Curtis clone, but think of this, if u knew death was coming after u and he's killed everybody you knew and loved, wouldn't u be pissed and living in a plastic bubble? Tony Todd is always great and gives a menacing tone to this guy that makes Candyman seem wholesome. The two new leads play their roles well, but they had to suffer through some terrible dialouge, if u don't believe me watch the pigeons part. But all in all this was a great horror movie and it was a big welcome to the return of gory horror flicks. It paved the way for more gruesome flicks and certainly gave the goods. The DVD looks extremely promising and I recommend it to those who need some blood n stuff in their lives. A great movie.
