Chalk one up for "the studios" on the "do-anything-for-a-buck" chart!
Once again, Warner Bros. has managed to take advantage of a popular franchise and classic movie. And release a horrible, embarrasingly bad film. This is so typical of studios these days... Dole out a substandard script. And hope that the public will be dumb enough to shell out ten bucks for a movie that's riding on the coattails of a well-known classic film title.
Well, I got news for you "brilliant" studio execs. STOP treating us like morons. Work alot harder to make a quality product. And please, trust that we are smart enough to understand and appreciate an intelligent and thought provoking version of a film. Such as the one Paul Schrader tried to give us.
TRUE horror is found in the MIND! Not with cheap "boo" scare tactics and gore!
This was a disaster waiting to happen. When they brought in Rennie Harlin for a "do-over!"
Not that Harlin isn't a capable director.
Shame on Warner Bros. for desecrating the brilliant work of William Friedkin, et al. And while we're on the subject of studio irresponsibilty, shame on 20th Century Fox for doing the same with Alien vs. Predator!
DO YOUR JOBS, STUDIO BRASS!! Work for the millions of dollars you embezzle from your employers and the World Wide movie-going public!
Oh, and on another note. Please, please, please lose the ridiculous amounts of cheesy, fake CGI effects! This is becoming an unfunny joke! Take a lesson from the FX experts in the first Exorcist movie!!!
DO YOUR JOBS or leave it to REAL creative people!!!!! |
