Ok, let me just start by saying the Exorcist (the original) scared the crap out of me. I was hoping this one would be the same, and it kinda was...it just took FOREVER to get to the good stuff.
It was basically an hour and a half buildup for a final 15 minutes of good, solid demonic possession at the end of it. Those 15 minutes were great, but not quite enough to justify sitting through "wierd coincidences" and "strange occurences" for the previous hour.
Anyone who goes to see this movie is obviously seeing it as a prequel to the original, so it's pretty hard to rate this movie on it's own terms. It was very well acted, and the direction was good, the plot was easy to follow...I just kept waiting for SOMEONE's head to spin around.
Worth seeing, just beware! |
