A choice of two paths...
First, there is a path that looks evil and
fearful. Second, there is an illusion of a
better life elsewhere, which Kidman's character
thinks she has found in the small church going
community of Dogville. In the end she is given
a choice of the two...stay in Dogville or
take the "evil" path that she has inherited from her family. Once she has an opportunity to step
away from her victimization from the varied
characters in Dogville, the first path, previously thought of as evil, now becomes a
path for justice to eliminate evil. This
movie shows the dark side of humanity and
the transition of an innocent compasionate
women to one of judge and prosecuter.

The script is excellent and Kidman is outstanding.
I might have walked out of this movie if it weren't for Kidman's perormance. What I found
hard to adjust to was seeing a movie that didn't
have real life visuals or stage sets. It was
like watching a small town theater, only
with great actors.

I saw this movie last night and can't stop thinking about how great a movie it was.
