the bad: if you want your typical hollywood entertainment, i would stay away. first off there are no visual effects and no computer generated graphics. there is one set in a studio. its like watching a early play. street names and road names are written on the ground in chalk. von trier did this so people would focus more on what the movie was trying to say rather then be distracted what what the town looked like. if you see movies like the last samurai or lord of the rings for their beautiful sceenry then you may get bored in this one.
the good: all i can see is that if you like lars von trier and if you like arthouse movies then this is worth $7. just go see it and figure out for yourself what it means. i am 19 years old and i enjoyed watching this. i would watch it many times. |
